1. Independence

PICMS is an independent compliance management platform operated by PICMS Ltd. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, certified by, approved by, or in partnership with any of the standards bodies, accreditation schemes, regulators, or industry associations referenced within the platform.

Where the Service refers to a third-party standard, scheme, regulator, or publication, the reference is by identifier only — for the purpose of helping you organise your evidence against that body's reference areas. Operators must hold their own legally-obtained copies of the controlled criteria.

2. Tool, not substitute for professional advice

PICMS provides software tools to help organisations prepare for, run, and demonstrate management-system compliance. PICMS does not provide:

Decisions affecting health and safety, regulatory compliance, certification, or contractual obligations must be reviewed by qualified professionals and made against your licensed copies of the applicable standards, regulations, and scheme criteria.

3. AI-generated content

The Service uses third-party large-language-model APIs (Anthropic Claude and OpenAI embeddings — see the Privacy Policy §5.1) to generate drafts, suggestions, gap analyses, RAMS, audit-form questions, document templates, and other content.

AI output is a starting point for review by a competent person within your organisation — not a finished compliance artefact. Always review, edit, and approve AI output before relying on it for compliance, certification, or operational decisions. PICMS does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness-for-purpose of AI-generated content. See Terms of Service §12 for the full position.

4. Standards and publications — independence statements

ISO standards

ISO standards are copyright the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). PICMS does not reproduce, distribute, or replace the official ISO standard text. References to ISO standards (9001, 14001, 27001, 27701, 42001, 45001, 50001, 22000, 22301, 13485, 14064, etc.) are by identifier only. Purchase or licence the official standards from iso.org or your national standards body.

IMCA publications

IMCA D018, D023, D040, D039, D011, and other IMCA publications are copyright the International Marine Contractors Association. PICMS workflows are aligned with the reference areas covered by these publications — the Service does not reproduce IMCA-controlled content. Obtain official IMCA publications from imca-int.com.

HSE publications

HSE Approved Codes of Practice (e.g. L103, L104) and HSE guidance are Crown Copyright, available under the Open Government Licence. PICMS references them factually. PICMS is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the Health and Safety Executive.

British Standards (BSI)

British Standards (BS 7858, BS EN 50131, BS EN 50132, BS EN 60839, BS EN 62676, BS 7671, BS 5839-1, etc.) are copyright BSI Group. PICMS workflows are aligned with the reference areas covered by these standards — content is paraphrased and references are by identifier only. Obtain official British Standards from bsigroup.com.

Industry schemes (NSI, SSAIB, ACS, IASME, NCSC, CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, Achilles)

Industry-scheme controls referenced within the Service are paraphrased PICMS interpretive content. Each scheme's certification process is administered by the scheme operator. PICMS does not certify against any scheme.

Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus

PICMS does not issue Cyber Essentials or Cyber Essentials Plus certificates — only IASME-accredited assessors do. The Cyber Essentials reference areas in the Service are factual identification only; operators must complete the official IASME / NCSC self-assessment for certification.

Care Quality Commission (CQC) and NHS DSPT

PICMS does not act as a CQC-registered service nor administer NHS DSPT submissions. References to CQC Fundamental Standards (Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, Regulations 9-20A) and NHS DSPT requirements are PICMS-original interpretive paraphrases — operators must consult the official SI and CQC's published "Guidance for providers on meeting the regulations" for the controlled wording.

5. Founder credentials

The founder, Jason Misters, holds IRCA® Registered Principal Auditor status with the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI-IRCA). The credential refers to the founder personally; it does not certify the PICMS platform itself. IRCA® is a registered trade mark of the Chartered Quality Institute.

6. Trade marks
